Sales of “Atlas Shrugged” Soar in the Face of Economic Crisis

Washington, D.C. -- Sales of Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged” have almost tripled over the first seven weeks of this year compared with sales for the same period in 2008. This continues a strong trend after bookstore sales reached an all-time annual high in 2008 of about 200,000 copies sold.

“Americans are flocking to buy & read ‘Atlas Shrugged’ because there are uncanny similarities between the plot-line of the book & the events of our day” said Yaron Brook, Executive Director at the Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights. “Americans are rightfully concerned about the economic crisis & government’s increasing intervention & attempts to control the economy. Ayn Rand understood and identified the deeper causes of the crisis we’re facing, & she offered, in ‘Atlas Shrugged,’ a principled & practical solution consistent with American values."

Ayn Rand on NNDB MAPPER - Tracking the entire world!

The NNDB Mapper is a visual tool for exploring the connections between people in NNDB, linking them together through family relations, corporate boards, movies & TV, political alliances, & shadowy conspiracy groups. Maps can be saved & shared for others to explore.

NNDB is an intelligence aggregator that tracks the activities of people we have determined to be noteworthy, both living & dead. Superficially, it seems much like a "Who's Who" where a noted person's curriculum vitae is available (the usual information such as date of birth, a biography, and other essential facts.)

MS Note: Ayn Rand, a.k.a., Alisa Zinovyevna Rosenbaum, in a nutshell, was a libertarian Russian Jewess born & a naturalized American novelist-philosopheress & was for individual rights vs corporate rights. The ex Fed Chief Alan Greenspan was so influenced by Rand that he wrote in 1966 an essay titled "Gold & Economic Freedom" advocating the Gold Standard as the best monetary policy. However, People For Mathematically Perfected Economy recognize the fact that gold could be a storage of value, but do not support the Gold Standard for gold is a limited resource & as we know it by now it can & if it can it will be manipulated &/or speculated upon it.

While 12,000 homes a day continue to go into foreclosure, mathematically perfected economy™ would re-finance a $100,000 home with a hundred-year lifespan at the overall rate of $1,000 per year or $83.33 per month. Without costing us anything, we would immediately become as much as 12 times as liquid on present revenue. Transitioning to MPE™ would apply all payments already made against existent debt toward principal. Many of us would be debt free. There would be no housing crisis, no credit crisis. Unlimited funding would immediately be available to sustain all the industry we are capable of.

There is no other solution. Regulation can only temper an inherently terminal process.

If you are not promoting mathematically perfected economy™, then you condemn us to monetary failure.
